About a year ago, the IGBIS team started on a project to revamp our main website. Through that project, we also recognised that schools create a lot of content throughout the year, from activities sign-ups, to busing information, to pieces of homework to important websites. As a school working with students using a range of technology, we wanted to extend how we reached out to our wider community. This week, we have completed a major part of this project.
Parents now have their own IGBIS Google login, meaning that we have just innovated how we communicate with you. In addition to the curriculum information that is contained on ManageBac, parents will be able to access other content we wish to share with our community. We are now able to publish and interact with parents in ways that wasn’t previously possible.
A great looking website is just the beginning. We have also built an IGBIS Splash Page, which provides members of our community a place to find all of the online documents that they will need access throughout the course of the day. The vision is for this site to be the go-to online location whenever a task needs to be completed or information needs to be retrieved, making technology a practical, useful tool and allows us to focus on learning.
I can’t wait to see what comes next.
