Thursday the 9th of November marked the biggest House event of the school year at IGBIS, the Phoenix House Activity Day, otherwise known as “PHAD”. Students from Kindergarten all the way up to Grade 12 worked in their house teams to complete activities and challenges designed to build team spirit and collaboration. Early Years students came up for a taste of the activities as well, participating in throwing, running and painting activities. Secondary students were there every step of the way, helping their younger teammates to participate and have fun, generating positivity, enthusiasm and team spirit throughout the whole school.

Although the day was all about team spirit and having fun, there was also a competitive side to the event. Each activity earned points for their house, and teams earned bonus spirit points when they demonstrated team spirit. It was a close competition, but Aer won the day, followed by Terra, Aqua and Ignis.

At the end of the school year, the House Cup will be awarded to the team that has accumulated the most points throughout the year from the many competitions and events organised by the Athletics and Activities Department, and at this stage the scores are still close, so any house can win.
