Elementary School

Primary/Elementary School Language Teacher (Chinese and Malay) (Full time)

Responsibilities:

  •  Work in an international school setting, which provides a comprehensive program to meet educational, emotional, social, health, nutritional, and psychological needs of children

  • Teach classes according to the curriculum guidelines

  • Design appropriate learning strategies to deliver the curriculum

  • Participate in regular duties outside lesson times

  • Offer all students equal opportunities to learn and maintain an environment in which no student is exposed to discriminatory behaviour

  • Undertake tasks associated with the ongoing development of the school’s curriculum.

  • Create a classroom environment conducive to the development of critical and creative learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.

  • Manage student behaviour in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the Student Handbook.

  • Plan and maintain a safe, clean, learning environment and ensuring the wellbeing and safety of the children in his/her care

  • Help students analyse and improve study methods and habits

  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job related skills

  • Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with students, parents, teachers and the Principals

  • Participate in staff meetings, training days, parent-teacher conference and school functions according to the published schedule

  • Keep records of student progress, and write reports as and when required

  • Undertake any other reasonable requests made by line manager

Requirements:

  • Minimum a Bachelor in Chinese Language and Literature Degree, BA Chinese Studies or relevant discipline

  • The ability to teach Bahasa Malaysia is highly desirable

  • 3 years’ teaching post qualified teacher status with the appropriate age level

  • Experience in international education preferably in IB Programmes

  • Has current First Aid Training

  • Ability to instruct students and manage student behaviour

  • Ability to communicate with parents before and after school hours

  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to adjust and be flexible to a multitude of situations in the school environment

  • Act as a positive role model for students

  • A keen learner and team player with positive working attitude

  • Able to work independently and multi-task

Secondary School

Japanese Language Teacher (Part Time)

Responsibilities:

  • Teach classes according to the curriculum guidelines
  • Prepare a yearly scheme of work as well as termly and weekly plans for the classes to be taught
  • Work in conjunction with colleagues to ensure an interdisciplinary approach to learning
  • Design appropriate learning strategies to deliver the curriculum
  • Set and mark class work/homework according to the schedule
  • Offer all students equal opportunities to learn and maintain an environment in which no student is exposed to discriminatory behaviour
  • Undertake tasks associated with the ongoing development of the school’s curriculum.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to the development of critical and creative learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Manage student behaviour in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the Student Handbook.
  • Help students develop the skills in the IB Learner Profile
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal assessment.
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job related skills
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training days, parent-teacher conference and school functions according to the published schedule
  • Keep records of student progress, and write reports as when required
  • Undertake any other reasonable requests made by line manager

Requirements:

  • Full qualified teacher status
  • Degree level qualifications in the specific subject area
  • 2-3 years’ teaching post qualified teacher status with the appropriate age level/ subject
  • Experience in international education preferably in IB Programmes
  • Has current First Aid Training
  • Ability to instruct students and manage student behaviour
  • Ability to communicate with parents before and after school hours
  • Able to work independently

Whole School

Recruitment Prerequisites

  • Candidates are required to have a university degree, a recognised teaching qualification and three years of teaching experience.
  • Experience of teaching in one or more IB programme is preferred however teachers who have worked with inquiry models of teaching will also be considered.
