Visual arts are an integral part of the curriculum at IGB International School, as we belive that art is integral part of life. The arts permeates all levels of human creativity, expression , communication and understanding. Visual arts may have a sociopolitical impact as well as ritual, spiritual, decorative and functional value.
During the Visual Arts programme students will explore a range of art forms from the traditional embedded in local and wider communities, societies and cultures, to the art practices associates with new, emerging media. They are provided with opportunities to create images and objects, but also learn ways to appreciate and respond to the practices of art-making by others.
All Grades 6, 7 and 8 students attend visual art classes and performing art classes. While Grades 9 and 10 are given the opportunity to focus on one.
In the DP programe students are encourages to challenge their own creative and cultural expections and boundaries. It is a thought-provoking course in which students develop analytical skills in problem solving and divergent thinking.
