Mission, Vision & Guiding Statement

Home / About Us / Mission Vision & Guiding Statement

At IGBIS, we recognise that to prepare students for our increasingly complex and interconnected world, we must provide them with new ways of thinking and collaborating in order to solve our most pressing global issues. Our mission goes far beyond preparing students for great universities and successful careers by also creating globally-minded, critical-thinking innovators ready to re-shape the world for the better. In short, we aim to live our vision, mission and motto – ‘Igniting Minds: Impacting Lives’ – each and every day.

IGBIS Vision

To provide an innovative international education that inspires learners to make a positive impact on the world.

IGBIS Mission

To provide an inclusive learning community, embracing diversity by offering a challenging IB education which empowers its members to be caring global citizens.

High-Quality Teaching and Learning at IGBIS:

High-quality teaching and learning fosters engagement, deep understanding, and empowerment, through differentiated, safe, and stimulating environments. It encourages inquiry, collaboration, agency, and challenges students to apply concepts in local and global contexts. High-Quality Teaching and Learning is informed by informal and formal assessment.

  • Role of the Students:
Students actively engage in relevant, lively discussions, reflect on their learning process, and explore their curiosity while feeling supported, cared for, and empowered to apply, transfer, and take ownership of their learning.
  • Role of the Teachers:
Teachers create safe, inviting, and stimulating environments that accommodate diverse needs and encourage student-driven exploration. Teachers foster curiosity, collaboration, transfer and agency, through purposeful differentiation, organized yet flexible structures, positive reinforcement, and application of concepts.

“Igniting Minds, Impacting Lives”

We engage, enable and empower the inquiring minds of IGBIS students so they become confident, knowledgeable, lifelong learners. In learning how to better understand themselves, our students discover how to positively influence and contribute to the wider community. In doing so, they make a difference in their own lives and the lives of others.
