IB Diploma Programme Results 2023
We have a remarkable 100% pass rate for the IBDP 2023, surpassing the world pass rate of 79.7%. Within our DP cohort, the average score attained was 37 out of 45 points. This achievement stands favourably in comparison to the world average of 30.2 points. Meanwhile, 25% of our students at IGBIS scored 40 and above out of 45 points.
In the IBDP, points are awarded from 1 to 7, with a 7 being the highest grade possible. Up to three additional points are awarded depending on the grades achieved in the Core, which includes the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge course, for a total possible score of 45. In order to receive an IB Diploma, a minimum score of 24 is required, with a minimum of 12 points coming from the HL subjects and 9 from the SL subjects. Regardless of the final exam scores, students must also satisfactorily complete the Core, as failing to complete the requirements of CAS, the EE, or TOK will negate the awarding of a diploma.
IB Career-related Programme Results 2023
This year, we maintain an impeccable record with a 100% pass rate for the IBCP 2023 cohort. Remarkably, this achievement marks the third consecutive year in which we have achieved this remarkable milestone.
Every CP student must complete the four elements of the CP core: the reflective project, service learning, personal and professional skills, and language development. The reflective project is assessed by the school and moderated and graded by the IB. They are graded from A to E, with A being the highest.
In addition, every CP student must take at least two DP courses in which points are awarded from 1 to 7, with a 7 being the highest grade possible. Furthermore, students need to complete their career-related studies. For the Art and Design programme at IGBIS, students need to pass five SCAD university courses. They are graded from A to E, with A being the highest.

IB Diploma Programme
Established in 1968 for students aged 16-19, the IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an internationally recognised academic programme designed to meet the needs of motivated high school students, providing them with a balanced education, and facilitating geographic and cultural mobility, while promoting international understanding. A comprehensive two-year programme that enables students to fulfil the requirements of various national education systems around the world, the IBDP’s curriculum model incorporates the best elements of several national assessment systems.
Students select six courses that they study for two years while also completing a compulsory core (see the diagram above). Each course lasts two years, from Grade 11 to 12 and in May of the Grade 12 year, the students sit for the IBDP standardised, external examinations.
IB Careers-related Programme
The IB Career-related Programme (CP) is an innovative educational framework for students aged 16 to 19. This is the newest and fastest-growing IB programme. The CP provides students with an excellent foundation to support their further post-secondary studies, as well as ensure their preparedness for success in the workforce. The CP at IGBIS combines highly regarded and internationally recognised IB Diploma Programme (DP) courses with university-level courses and a unique CP core.
The IGBIS High School Diploma Programme
The High School Diploma Programme (HSDP) is a viable alternative option for those students seeking the greatest flexibility in their choices and selections. Students take any combination of higher-level and standard-level courses and are able to pick and choose which DP or even CP Core elements they complete.
