Jay

Hi, my name is Jay, and I’m 12 years old. I was born in Korea, but lived in New Zealand most of my life. I have been on many different trips to different countries with my family. I love to travel, experience new and diverse cultures, and learning more about each country's traditions. Another thing I love to do is play sports and do outdoor activities. Skiing, tennis, football, swimming, and even playing on trampolines are my favourite things to do. My TedX is about “Overcoming fear of failure.” I joined TEDx because I wanted to experience how it felt to be on stage, telling a crowd my perspectives and my ideas, through talking. It takes a lot of courage to do this, and that is another reason why I am doing it, to take risks. I want to give this speech to the people out there as it tells them how overcoming the fear of failing can be beneficial to them, and can be a useful skill to learn. I hope you enjoy my speech!!

Jia

Hi, my name is Jia, and I’m a grade 7 student. I’m Korean and moved to Malaysia 2 years ago. I’m always passionate and eager to join diverse activities and events. I joined TEDx to share my own beliefs and strong desire with others. Whenever I stand on the stage, either with my violin, guitar, or my voice, my heart always bounces, and the excitement becomes a small piece of my memory. Today, I stood on this stage to deliver my  TEDx speech, which is about how a small spark of curiosity has the power to change everything. I hope you enjoy my speech.

Hyeyoon

Hi! My name is Hyeyoon, and I’m in grade 9. I’m Korean and was born in Korea, but lived most of my life in Türkiye. I just moved to Malaysia around 3 years ago. As a kid, I was very introverted. My parents were even called to school because I didn’t speak to anyone and didn’t even answer in class. That’s why I wanted a change. I wanted to speak up. Stop being shy and stop getting red every time people look at me. And that’s why I joined TEDx Youth. Speaking of being introverted, my speech is about MBTI. My experience as an introvert. What I realised after some hard years. So, come see my speech. I really hope you enjoy it!

Samantha

Si Xuan

Hello! My name is Si Xuan, and I am currently a Grade 9 student. It is my first year at IGBIS doing the IB programme, so everything is a new experience for me. However, when I discovered that TEDx was available at IGBIS, I knew I wanted to participate because of the impact it has on people. My goal is to change the way individuals perceive themselves in a world that often encourages self-doubt, especially through social media. Through my speech, I hope to offer a different perspective and remind the audience not to compare themselves to others, as each person is unique and special in their own way.
