It has been an exciting week on the sporting front. Our students were out in force to support the Secondary school swimmers for their KLSL swim meet on Thursday, and on Friday, the Elementary swim team students took part in the AIMS swimming competition.
The students focused on beating their own personal best times, and in the process, some of the students were successful in winning medals for either 1st, 2nd or 3rd. We are proud of all of our swimmers, especially when I hear of our students shaking hands and congratulating other swimmers from other schools. This kind of sportsmanship is who we are as a school.
School uniform reminder.
Elementary students should wear their red polo shirts on a daily basis unless they have PE. ON those days, they should wear the PE-approved uniform below.
The black sports shirt should ONLY be worn for after-school activities.
The Phoenix squad shirts should only be worn on days that the school is ‘supporting’ student athletes like AIMS swimming gala days. This is not the regular school uniform.
House shirts should be worn on ‘house’ days, for example, STEAM day. This is not the regular school uniform.
With regard to footwear, students should be wearing black trainers. Crocs or sandals should only be worn if accompanied by a medical note for a foot injury.

From the Counselling Team
Another week over and yet another Coffee with the Counsellors session is done. One of the best parts about being an educator is that we get to reflect on what we do. When we reflect deeply, we make changes and ensure that the way we work becomes more effective. Last year the counselling team presented a small number of parent workshops and shared the monthly ‘What’s Next’ sessions with a focus on our high school students and life after graduation. Some of the feedback that came out of the various reviews that were completed last year, was that overall, parents enjoyed working with the Counselling Team and were looking forward to interacting more with us and joining in a range of additional parent workshops. This allowed us to reflect and introduce workshops for parents that centred around the same monthly themes we were introducing to the students. Today’s Coffee with the Counsellors focus was Boundaries. Yet again, we had the opportunity to work with an amazing bunch of interested parents from across the whole school. They completed interactive and collaborative activities, listened a lot and asked questions to deepen their understanding of the topic. Thank you so much for your active and enthusiastic participation. For those people who were unable to attend, please take a look at the slides we shared. Have a great weekend!
Best Regards
The Counseling Team
