At IGBIS we believe that the investment in a Performing Artist Residency program has far-reaching benefits for a wide range of our students, and will contribute significantly to the ongoing development of our arts community at IGBIS. The involvement of students from other schools and associated publicity would be of benefit as we promote our School as an arts hub.

Nicole Stinton has worked as a director, vocal coach and actor for over two decades across Australasia, specialising in music theatre. She has taught acting and singing at a tertiary level for over ten years, including at WAAPA (Australia) and Lasalle (Singapore).

Other industry experience includes being Artistic Director for four annual seasons of Short+Sweet in Singapore, as well as the inaugural Malaysian festival. She has published several Drama textbooks that are widely used in the Australian education system. 

Nicole holds an MBA in Entertainment and Arts Management (Deakin) and a Bachelor in Musical Theatre (WAAPA). She is studying her PhD in music theatre acting at WAAPA.

Her most recent professional production Tony Galati – The Musical, which Nicole directed, was nominated for the FringeWorld Theatre prize earlier this year.

Nicole is currently Course Coordinator of the new Diploma of Musical Theatre at WAAPA.

Cost: 100 MYR per student.

  • Acting Through Song I (11-14 years) 9.00 am -10.45 am
  • BREAK 10.45 am – 11.00 am
  • Group number (11-18 years) 11.00 am – 12.45 pm
  • LUNCH (provided) 12.45 pm – 1.45 pm
  • Acting Through Song I (15-18 years) 1.45 pm – 3.30 pm
  • Coaching session (15-18 years) (where the students bring an individual song to sing and I coach them in front of the rest of the group) 3.45 pm – 5.30 pm

  • Acting Through Song 2 (11-14 years) 9.00 am – 10.45 am
  • Group number (11-18 years)  11.00 am – 12.45 pm
  • LUNCH (provided) 12.45 pm – 1.45 pm
  • Voice: Golden Age vs Contemporary Musical (15-18 years) 1.45 pm – 3.30 pm
  • Acting Through Song 2 (15-18 years)  3.45 pm – 4.45 pm
