Jill Coombs has spent her professional life working in communication through theatre, film, TV, and education. She taught performance, drama, English language and literature at universities, colleges, and schools in the UK, where she obtained an MA from Goldsmith’s College and a PGCE from the Institute of Education, University of London.
In 2002 Jill moved to Japan, where she started teaching English as an additional language. She has been based in Asia ever since and settled in Malaysia in 2005. Here she has served the educational needs of local and international learners throughout the age range, and within a variety of establishments and capacities: as a head teacher, teacher, teacher trainer, consultant, conference presenter and manager.
Her experience has provided insights into many different educational systems and approaches. Jill’s central ethos is collaborative, communicative and creative and she is delighted to now be working within the inquiry-based IB curriculum at IGBIS.
