Secondary School Team

Alan has worked in International Schools for over twenty years including schools in Egypt, UK, Singapore, Thailand and Mexico. His background is in design, and he graduated with a Degree in Architecture with a strong focus on digital led design. He also holds a Masters in Education and Technology and is a restless lifelong learner having taught Design, Computer Science, Digital Society, Business and Theory of Knowledge. As an administrator, Alan has led many schools through authorisation and verification for both the IBDP and IBCP programmes. He is passionate about the IB, and fully believes in its mission and ideals to make the world a better place through education. Alan's core philosophy centers on student well-being. He believes that without this foundational pillar, other aspects of student development suffer, preventing them from reaching their full potential. He originates from the south coast of the UK, and is an avid Portsmouth supporter. Alan will live in Malaysia with his Mexican wife, and daughter Atala who is a keen sportswoman. Outside of the classroom, Alan enjoys trekking, cycling, fine art exhibitions, the odd music festival and reading non-fiction books.
