Chai Lai Sim is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). She has over 30 years of experience in audit, corporate finance, capital management strategy including treasury, financial accounting and taxation in property development, commercial and retail property investment and hospitality industries. She began her career as an articled student with Coopers & Lybrand (now known as PriceWaterhouseCoopers) before joining Tan & Tan Developments Berhad (Tan & Tan) as Group Financial Controller in 1993. Following the completion of the merger between Tan & Tan and IGB Corporation Berhad (IGBC) in 2002, she was appointed Senior Group General Manager of Group Finance and subsequently as GCFO of IGBC. After the privatisation of IGBC by IGB Berhad (IGB) on 16 March 2018, she was appointed as GCFO of IGB.
