Last week our U11 girls were victorious in their KLSL football tournament. After some very close games with the final going into extra time, our girls managed to get the all-important goal and win the tournament. The picture below shows a lot of tired but smiling faces.
This week has all been about the Lunar New Year celebrations with lots of hard work going into producing an entertaining assembly. We hope that all of the parents who made it to the dress rehearsal had a flavour of what the final assembly was going to be all about today.
It was incredible to see so many of our Elementary students dressed in either traditional Lunar New Year clothes or red. Check out our grade 3s as an example!
What I can say is that the assembly was a dance extravaganza. We had dances from our Early Years 2 students, a ballet performance from our Grade 5 students, a fan dance from some Grade 6 students, a contemporary compilation of dances from our Secondary dance club, a contemporary water fan dance from two of our Grade 6 students, and not forgetting a wonderful student and parent Chinese traditional dance. It was upbeat, it was calm, and the dances themselves contained synchronicity and creativity. They were all amazing.
Our Lunar New Year assembly was not limited to just dance performances. The school orchestra as usual performed exceptional pieces, and our Grade 2 students added a different dimension to the performances. Our Grade 2 students explained and demonstrated how families celebrate the Lunar New Year with an entertaining role play.
Thank you to all the performers and teachers who made this a successful assembly. I hope you enjoy the celebrations this weekend, see you all back to school on Thursday, 15 February 2024.
As always we are super thankful to the committed group of parents who attended our monthly mental health Coffee with the Counsellors on Friday morning. This week we focused on Healthy Relationships.

It is Maloé and Wen Yi, and we are back for the Terry Fox Run 2024!!
We held this run at the beginning of the year, and we will be doing so again on the 16th of February (Friday). This year the run will be a little different as it will be held in the evening from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. We will also be having booths so make sure to bring money! The food/drinks range from RM2 - RM5.
For those of you who were not here during the first run. The Terry Fox Run is an event in which you run/walk 3.2 km (8 laps) around the field. All the money that we raise goes to Cancer Research Malaysia, which is a company that is in liaison with the Terry Fox Foundation.
To join the run, you have to donate. You can donate as much as you want, but if you donate anything over RM35, you will receive a shirt designed by Ryan Reynolds from the Terry Fox Foundation.
Please sign up with this link, and any donation is greatly appreciated. The sign-up form closes next Sunday, as we will be giving out the ordered shirts beforehand. If you are sadly unable to join the run but would still like to donate, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
If you have placed a donation but are unable to come on the day, please give us the money throughout next week.

Update about Imperial Admissions tests for 2025-entry
We are pleased to let you know about our new partnership with the University of Cambridge which we hope will improve the experience for your students who may be applying to one or both of our institutions from 2025 entry. Together, we are working with global assessments leader, Pearson VUE, on the delivery of two computer-based admissions tests for many of our most competitive undergraduate courses.
About the tests
New for 2025 entry: Our admissions tests will be used for selection to the following Imperial courses, allowing for fairer comparison of students from all educational backgrounds:
Worldwide test centres: The multiple-choice, computer-based assessments will be available within Pearson VUE's global network of test centres in more than 5,500 locations in over 180 countries.
Costs: Applicants will be required to pay an administration charge to take the tests of £130.
Transparent selection process: We will publish guidelines on our undergraduate course pages from February 2024 about how each department will incorporate the test into their decision-making.
Support to prepare: Practice resources to support students in their preparation for the tests will be available in spring 2024.
Choice of test dates: Pearson VUE will run two test sittings for 2025 entry to reflect the two main UCAS deadlines. Confirmation of registration deadlines for the tests will follow. Students will be able to book a time slot in one of the following test sittings:
15 October – 17 October 2024, or 07 – 09 January 2025
Other admissions tests: Other admissions tests you should be aware of include:
See our Study website for details of the tests that apply for 2024 and 2025 entry.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to working with you to ensure that your students are well-informed and well-prepared for these changes to our selection process for 2025 entry and beyond.
