It was wonderful catching up with many of you at Wednesday's Elementary School Back to School afternoon. I hope you all learned a lot from the homeroom teachers about what your children will be learning this year and how you can all work together to ensure that your child’s experiences are positive and lead to success.
Our single subject-sharing session in the ES music room was a hive of activity. I saw many of you engaging in fruitful conversations with our single-subject team's teachers.
This week also saw the 1st student-driven assembly presented by our Grade 5 students. It was a great opportunity to see the students being risk-takers as they shared their learning and their talents in a multitude of ways.
There were individual musical performances, group performances, games, videos and lots of valuable sharing. We even had G5 create their own Just IGB Dance video for everyone to get up and move.
Learning to be a Phoenix.
Using Maths to find out about our new students.
Using scenarios to consider how we should act and behave in school- the Phoenix Way.
